PPC · Google Ads
A worked example of breakeven cost per lead, the cases where I would tell you not to bother, and what has to be in place before you spend.
Know your breakeven cost per lead
Fix the landing page before the ads
Judge it at 60 days
Cybersecurity · Lost laptops
The order matters: cut off the account, lock the device, then find out whether the drive was encrypted, because that decides whether this is a breach.
Revoke sessions before anything else
Encryption decides if it is a breach
Get a police report number
E-commerce · Shopify
Usually yes, for physical products. On a $15,000-a-month store the card fees are several times the plan price, and the apps are the cost that creeps.
Card fees cost more than the plan
Grow pays off near $25,000 a month
Audit your apps every quarter
Cybersecurity · Client requirements
Clients would rather read an honest ‘partially, fixed by March’ than a yes you can’t back up. Write the answers once, keep the evidence, and the next one takes an afternoon.
The same twenty topics every time
An honest ‘not yet’ beats a bluff
Build one answer file, reuse it
Web Design · Domains
An expired domain is cheap to fix in the first weeks and expensive after that. What you can do depends on which stage it has reached.
Act fast: costs rise at each stage
Renew through the same registrar
Keep domains in a company account
SEO · Choosing an agency
Promised rankings get the attention. The flag I’d actually walk away over is an agency that keeps your Google accounts under its own login.
Nobody can promise first place
Long contracts protect the agency
You should own every account
