For most companies with 10 to 100 employees, HubSpot is the easier fit: it is quicker to set up, simpler for staff to use and bundles marketing tools with the CRM. Salesforce fits better when your sales process is complex, you need heavy customization, or you expect to grow into an enterprise system with a dedicated administrator.
Both have small-business entry plans. As of 2026, Salesforce lists its Starter Suite at $25 per user per month and Pro Suite at $100, and third-party 2026 pricing guides put HubSpot’s Starter Customer Platform at about $20 per seat and Sales Hub Professional at about $100 per seat. The bigger cost difference usually shows up in setup, add-ons and administration.
Free CRM tier. Starter Customer Platform about $20 per seat per month, Sales Hub Professional about $100 per seat monthly or $90 billed annually, Enterprise about $150, according to Automation Atlas’s July 2026 breakdown. Ask whether a one-time onboarding fee applies to Professional or Enterprise. Marketing contacts can add cost.
Salesforce’s small business pricing page lists Starter Suite from $25 per user per month (monthly or annual) and Pro Suite from $100 per user per month, billed annually on contract. Higher Sales Cloud editions cost more, and many features are paid add-ons. Implementation partners are common.
Prices change often and promotions are frequent, so confirm on each vendor’s site. When comparing, model your real seat count for three years, include the tier you will actually need for automation and reporting, and add setup, training and integration costs.
This is where small businesses feel the difference most.

At entry level they are close: about $20 per seat for HubSpot Starter versus $25 per user for Salesforce Starter Suite as of 2026. Total cost depends on the tier you need, add-ons, setup and administration.
Not necessarily. Starter Suite is built for small teams. Complexity grows with customization, and most companies on Pro Suite or higher benefit from a trained admin or partner.
Yes. Contacts, companies and deals export and import cleanly. Automations, reports and integrations have to be rebuilt, so plan for that work.
HubSpot has a native QuickBooks Online integration on all plans. Salesforce typically uses AppExchange apps or partner connectors. Both can work well if configured carefully.
