QuickBooks Online is accounting software. NetSuite is a full cloud ERP that runs accounting, inventory, order management, purchasing and reporting in one database. Stay on QuickBooks while your books, inventory and users fit inside its limits. Move to NetSuite when you need multiple entities, serious inventory or multiple locations, more than 25 users, or real-time reporting that QuickBooks plus add-ons cannot deliver.
The cost gap is large. As of 2026, Intuit lists QuickBooks Online from $38 to $340 a month at regular price. Oracle does not publish NetSuite prices; SoftwareConnect’s January 2026 guide reports base licenses of roughly $2,500 to $5,000 a month for starter bundles plus about $129 per user per month, before implementation.
Revenue alone is a poor trigger. These operational signs matter more.
One or two of these can be solved with better integrations. Four or more usually means the platform itself is the constraint.
Many companies jump straight from QuickBooks to NetSuite when a cheaper fix exists. Before you sign an ERP contract, check whether these would solve the pain:
If you sell online, our guide to QuickBooks integration with Shopify and your CRM shows what a clean setup looks like. If the business still strains after that, NetSuite or another mid-market ERP becomes a sound investment rather than a hopeful one.

Because Oracle quotes each deal, published numbers are third-party estimates. SoftwareConnect’s guide reports per-user licenses around $129 per month and base platform fees of about $2,500 to $5,000 a month for starter and standard bundles and $5,000 to $10,000 for premium tiers, and says implementation often runs about twice the annual license cost. Your quote will depend on:
Ask for renewal pricing in writing. Multi-year terms with annual increases are common, and the year-three price matters as much as year one.
Plan for your controller and operations lead to spend significant time on testing. The partner configures the system, but only your team can confirm it is right.
When QuickBooks runs out of room, NetSuite is the name most people hear first, but it is one of several mid-market options. Compare at least two before you sign.
Ask each vendor the same questions: what does year three cost, which integrations do you already support for our store, CRM and payroll, who will implement it, and what does the partner charge for changes after go-live. The answers usually separate the options faster than any feature list.
Stay on QuickBooks Online if you have one entity, simple inventory, fewer than 25 users and your close is under a week. Look at NetSuite or a comparable ERP if you have multiple entities, real inventory complexity or growth that will double transactions within two years. Either way, the integrations around the system decide whether it works.
JLB USA provides systems integration for CRM, accounting, ERP and web apps, and automation to remove the manual steps between them.

They solve different problems. QuickBooks Online is accounting software for smaller, simpler businesses. NetSuite is an ERP for companies with multiple entities, complex inventory or many users. The better choice is the one that fits your operations today and for the next few years.
As of 2026, QuickBooks Online lists at $38 to $340 a month. NetSuite is quoted per deal; third-party guides report base fees of several thousand dollars a month plus about $129 per user, before implementation.
As of 2026, Intuit lists 1 user on Simple Start, 3 on Essentials, 5 on Plus and 25 on Advanced, plus accountant access.
Most small and midsize migrations take several months, depending on modules, data cleanup and the number of integrations to rebuild.
Yes. Many companies migrate opening balances and open transactions, then keep QuickBooks in read-only mode for older detail.
